What is indoor skydiving?

Some of Australia’s best indoor flyers will compete across a range of disciplines and skill levels. From junior solo routines to advanced 4-way vertical formation skydiving, every moment is packed with athleticism and awe-inspiring control.
Competition categories (Explained)
4-Way FS Rookie
Teams of four perform basic formations with stability and teamwork—a great intro to a wind tunnel indoor skydiving competition.
4-Way FS A
Slightly faster, more complex sequences for intermediate flyers testing their coordination.
4-Way FS AA
High-level formations with advanced transitions and a deeper “dive pool” of moves.
2-Way VFS Intermediate
Two-person vertical flying (head-up/head-down). It’s all about mastering orientation and timing.
2-Way VFS Advanced
Advanced duos move through rapid vertical patterns with laser precision.
2-Way Dynamic Intermediate
Combines air tunnel skydiving simulator skills with creative speed sequences and a short freestyle routine.
2-Way Dynamic Open
Top-tier freestyle flying. Fast, flowing, and full of flair.
Freestyle Junior
Young solo flyers show off creative routines—an inspiring glimpse into the future of indoor parachuting talent.
Freestyle Intermediate
Mid-level soloists express themselves with choreographed routines blending technique and personality.
4-Way VFS Advanced
The most demanding team event—4 flyers in vertical formation, syncing transitions at extreme speed.
A national celebration
This year is a landmark: it’s the first time iFLY Melbourne has hosted the VIC State Championships. Known for its buzzing community and world-class tunnel, Melbourne sets the stage on June 21.
Then, on June 28, the competition moves west to iFLY Perth—a fan-favourite venue that’s hosted national events in the past. Both cities bring something unique, but they share the same goal: to celebrate Australia's best in air tunnel skydiving.
